Does the world really not know where Iowa is?

When I lived in Nashville, TN there were a few people that I met that didn't know where Iowa was. Most of the time they would confuse it with Idaho. Since then, I have moved out to Washington and everyone here knows where Idaho is but still there are people who don't know where Iowa is. I was at Home Depot getting a funnel and tubing to make a beer bong for my cousin as a joke for his birthday and a very helpful UW frat boy was helping me. We were chatting and when I said that I had gone to college in Iowa he was like "Oh, the Buckeyes" I informed him that no, that was Ohio. Did kids just miss out on geography? I know Iowa is not that big of a state and yeah, I am a little bias because I grew up there. As someone who likes to travel it just baffels me that you can be in college or graduated from college and not know where all 50 states are.

Mountain Biking

So after catching up on my blog reading, I realized that I have been slacking and that I should write another blog. I went mountain biking for the first time in close to 8 years last Sunday. It was a beautiful day and a nice area that my cousin and I went biking in. My cousin is pretty hard core when it comes to doing out door activites. He tore his ACL skiiing last November and biking is one of the few activities he can do now. When he did approch me about going mountain biking, I was thinking yeah I can do that, he'll have to take it a little bit slower and I've been doing some skiing and working out the last couple months so I should be able to keep up. I was wrong, I'm just going to blame it on not all the gears working on the bike and wearing myself out trying to figure out how to work them in the beginning but my legs were jell-o at the end of the hour and a half ride and my butt defanitly hurt the next day. Neadless to say, I am not giving up! My cousin and I plan having many more bike rides and hopefully I can keep up next time :) At least I know now to get the gears to work next time.
